Matcha Latte
Visually stunning and with more health benefits then we could mention in one post, the demand for Matcha the world over is booming.
Matcha powder is a finely ground green tea produced from specially cultivated and processed tea leaves, primarily from Japan. Unlike regular green tea, which involves steeping and discarding leaves, matcha is mixed directly with water or milk, allowing you to consume the entire leaf. This method provides you with a concentrated dose of antioxidants, vitamins, and caffeine.
Shade-grown and stone-ground in its traditional form, high-quality Matcha produces a vibrant, deep forest green colour with a rich umami taste.
Here’s our guide to making the perfect Matcha latte.
Method
- Put 1g of Matcha powder into your mug of choice.
- Add a splash of hot liquid (water/milk). If desired, you can add sugar or honey at this stage to sweeten.
- Use a whisk to create a paste, ensuring there are no lumps.
- Steam your milk to create velvety latte milk. If making at home, heat your milk in a saucepan, being careful not to boil.
- Combine with your Matcha paste and serve. Simple!
Why not use Oat Milk to create a delicious Vegan option.
