Today, Espresso 44 is a thriving multi-site café business, operating three successful outlets. Each location is bright, modern and beautifully presented, occupying prominent locations that have helped establish the brand as a popular destination for both locals and visitors. More importantly, every café reflects the same commitment to quality coffee, friendly service and a consistently welcoming atmosphere.

Their journey demonstrates how the combination of great locations, passionate owners, excellent coffee, well-trained baristas and strong operational systems can create a business that continues to grow year after year. Taking a thoughtful and measured approach, they began by serving coffee using a Bean to Cup automatic coffee machine, allowing the team to build confidence while still delivering a consistently high-quality product. As demand grew and the team's skills developed through barista training, they made the natural progression to traditional espresso machines, opening the door to even higher levels of customisation, coffee quality, volumes and customer experience.

Their journey is a great example of how cafés and operators don't need to do everything at once. With a clear vision, the right support, and a willingness to invest in their people, Kate's Kitchen successfully expanded its offering, creating another reason for customers to visit while strengthening an already thriving business.

They take the time to understand coffee, develop their skills, and continually improve both their knowledge and their business. That commitment makes a real difference—not only in the quality of every cup served, but also in the overall customer experience. By no means should they be the person making the coffee day in day out – but they need to know what is involved in creating great coffee.

We believe a passion for quality has to come from the top down. When café owners lead by example and invest in doing things well, it creates a culture that extends throughout the entire team. As coffee suppliers, there's no greater confidence than knowing our coffee is in the hands of people who care as much about quality as we do. They opened in 2011 and are still going strong, and definitely worth a visit. A hidden gem in the heart of Galway. 

When they started, the business was built around a small, passionate team, an entry-level two-group traditional espresso machine and grinder, and a reputation for producing some of the finest freshly baked breads and homemade treats. From the outset, they understood that serving consistently high-quality coffee and offering daily fresh bread and pastries would be key to building customer loyalty and encouraging repeat business within their local community. As demand has grown, so too has their coffee operation.

Today, Sullivan's Country Store operates with a commercial three-group espresso machine and two high-spec coffee grinders, enabling the team to deliver consistently excellent coffee even during their busiest periods. The Sullivan's team has also grown into a talented group of passionate hospitality professionals who share a genuine love of great food, expertly brewed coffee and exceptional customer service. Sustainability remains at the heart of everything they do, with a strong commitment to making responsible choices that are good for both their customers and the environment.

The business began as a simple coffee-to-go model in 2022. As the owners' confidence around coffee and their customer base grew, so did their ambition. Rather than expanding too quickly, they adopted a measured, strategic approach-carefully developing the space, evolving the menu, refining the customer experience, and investing in each stage of the business only when the time was right.

Today, Suntrap Café is a thriving, fully fledged café serving exceptional coffee and food while acting as a genuine community hub, regularly hosting local events and activities. Importantly, they haven't stood still-the café continues to evolve, constantly looking for new ways to improve the customer experience and strengthen its place within the community.
