Overnight Coffee Oats
We all love the flavours of our favourite FiXX. And most of us love the energy kick-start it gives us first thing in the morning. But wouldn't it be lovely to have that energy released slowly throughout your morning, powering you through until lunchtime in a healthy, delicious way? Well, good news. We've got just the thing for you!
Ingredients
- 120ml FiXX Coffee
- 60ml Oat Milk
- 60g (1/4 cup) Natural Yoghurt (vegan yoghurt will work fine too)
- 80g Rolled Oats (porridge oats)
- 2 tbsp Maple Syrup
- 1 tbsp Chia Seeds
Method
- Brew your favourite FiXX however you want. I used an AeroPress brewing 250ml of coffee using 15g of FiXX. I made two batches using FiXX Lisbon and FiXX Decaf, which worked well. Espresso, French Press, Pour-over, capsules? The choice here is yours. The coffee flavour will carry well in any of these brewing methods. Either way, brew at least 120ml of FiXX and put it aside to slightly cool.
- Pour your coffee into a medium-sized bowl and add the milk, yoghurt and maple syrup. I used Minor Figures oat milk as I enjoy the taste, but feel free to use any milk you like.
- Use a whisk to combine all the wet ingredients.
- Add the oats and chia seeds and combine thoroughly.
- Pour your oat mixture into a sealable container like Tupperware and place in the fridge for at least 6 hours. As the name suggests, though, overnight works best.
- Your oats should be now ready. What toppings you use is up to you.
Give them a try first before deciding what toppings to use. As mentioned above, I used FiXX Lisbon and Decaf when trying this recipe, and both coffees lend themselves to fruit. So, I topped it with raspberries, blueberries, pecan nuts and flaked almonds. But, if you use a darker roast like FiXX Organic or Cubano, try with crushed hazelnuts and dark chocolate chips. You can even try banana chips with shredded coconut and cocoa powder! Enjoy!
