So…. the dinner and desserts have all been polished off, but there is always room for a Coffee Liqueur…..

The problem is, which one to enjoy first!

Irish Coffee
1 cup of coffee
1 shot of Irish Whiskey
1 teaspoon of brown sugar
Whipped cream
Grated Chocolate or cinnamon to taste, (optional)

Preheat the glass by rinsing with hot water, drain and dry.
Add 1 teaspoon of sugar and pour in the whiskey.
Add hot coffee, leaving room at the top for the cream.
Spoon the whipped cream over the hot coffee but don’t mix in.
Sprinkle with grated chocolate if desired.
Enjoy!

Amaretto Coffee
1 cup of coffee
1 shot of brandy
1 shot of Amaretto
Whipped cream
 

Preheat the glass by rinsing with hot water, drain and dry.
Add Brandy and Amaretto.
Add hot coffee and top with cream and toasted almonds.
Enjoy!

Baileys Coffee
1 shot of Baileys
1 cup of hot coffee
Whipped cream

Preheat the glass by rinsing with hot water, drain and dry.
Add the Bailey and the hot coffee while continuously mixing.
Using the back of a warm spoon pour over the softly whipped cream.
Enjoy!

Add some festive fun to your coffees and spice them up with some delicious warming cinnamon.

Cinnamon Cappuccino

• Double shot of espresso
• 2 pump of Sweetbird Cinnamon syrup 

Top with a good textured heated milk and a sprinkling of cocoa or chocolate powder.

Cinnamon & Chocolate Mocha

• Double shot of espresso
• 1 oz.Chocolate sauce
• 1/2 pumps of Cinnamon syrup
• Approx 8oz milk
• Steamed textured milk

Mix chocolate sauce and cinnamon together and steam the milk
Extract 2 shots of espresso over the chocolate and cinnamon base and add the steamed milk

Cinnamon Latte

• Double shot of espresso
• 2 pumps of Sweetbird Cinnamon Syrup
• Steamed milk

Combine the espresso, honey and syrup. Top with milk.
For an extra treat add 1 tablespoon of honey for a Cinnamon and Honey Latte

Warm Cinnamon Delight

• 1 1/2 pumps of Sweetbird Chai syrup
• 1 pump of Sweetbird Cinnamon syrup
• Steamed milk

Combine syrups, top with milk and top with whipped cream and cinnamon sprinkles                            

These have got to be the best and most timeless ads that herald the arrival of Christmas.  They are most definitely our favourites anyway!

Well done to the finalists of the Avonmore Irish Barista Championship which took place in Java Republic on 12th and 13th November 2011.

These 6 entrants will compete in the final rounds which will be held on February 1st 2012  in The Citywest Hotel.

The finalist will then go on to compete in the World Barista Championships in Vienna, Austria from 12th – 15th June 2012.

It is 11. November 2011 (11.11. 11) and for some it’s regarded as doomsday and for others it’s a perfect day.  We have opted for the latter today!

The date is significant for many reasons and here are just a few:  

1. World War 1 ended  - 11th November 1918
2. Gamblers love it – Its lucky legs 11 in bingo and Blackjack lovers love the number 11.
3. The US saw a great weather phenomena 11.11. 1911 (The Great Blue Norther) where the temperature dropped by 40 to 50 degrees in 10 minutes and blizzards and tornadoes wreaked havoc.

 To spread the good vibes we have decided to give away 11 FREE Bags of Fixx Coffee to 11 lucky winners!
