Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop – Landon Pigg

Keeping in the mood for Valentine’s Day fast approaching, this week we have chosen Spandau Ballet from the New Romance Era in the 80′s.

If you would like to join us for a Fixx Coffee, drop along to the Milano Coffee System Stand (J10) over the next few days at Catex in RDS Dublin. The Bald Barista will be there and he is only to happy to make your favourite coffee.

Catex is Ireland’s catering exhibition which showcases equipment, services, and food and beverage products for the food service and hospitality sectors. It takes place from 8-10 Feb and the show times are:
Tues: 10am to 6pm
Wed: 10am to 8pm
Thurs: 10am to 5pm

The Catex show will also host the finals of the National Barista Competitions so best of luck to all the eager and ambitious baristas who are partaking.

There are a range of other interesting events scheduled so definitely something for everyone.

We are delighted to be supporting the fantastic Trinity Arts Festival which begins today 7th -11th February 2011.   

This festival is a week long, cross-campus event that is packed to the brim with a range of workshops, tours, talks, concerts and exhibitions. As well as being an event that unites the many arts based societies in the university, it is a fun and exciting way to sample a slice of what colleges societies has to offer.

We are sponsoring a deluxe Fixx Coffee Hamper packed with goodies and here are the events you will have an opportunity to sign up to, for entry into the draw.  

Calligrpahy Workshop, 7th February 2011
TAF in conjunction with the Early Irish Society, are delighted to welcome Peannairí, a Dublin based group of highly skilled calligraphers to the festival. Peannairí will instruct participants in the art of calligraphy, as they recreate a page from a medieval manuscript using modern day techniques. As well as learning the craft of calligraphy, those involved will learn about the incredible manuscripts currently on display in the Old Library, including the Book of Kells and the Book of Armagh.

For all those out there that are tired of the same gold and silver bangles from Penneys then be sure to drop by the Jewellery workshop hosted by Yellow Brick Road Bead and Crystal shop. Here you can learn a whole range of fun and quirky techniques and tips on how to make your own personalised jewellery with fl avour and fl are to suit you.

Come Dine With Me At Trinity Screening in Science Gallery. 11th February 2011
Five contestants battle it out on a week-long adventure of one dinner party a night. Scores are (sometimes brutally) given on film to each host at the end of each night and the winner will be announced at the screening. Not only a screening, but also a live performance, as the five contestants watch tentatively as the winner is announced!
